The RESEO Conference 2019 will take a look at opera, music and dance education as a medium to connect with local communities, while exploring the challenges involved in the participatory process.
Hosted by RESEO founding member La Monnaie / De Munt, the event will welcome arts education professionals from across Europe and beyond for three days of debates, presentations, practical workshops and networking opportunities.
Participatory projects enable communities to explore their creative potential, powering exchange among people who would not usually have the opportunity to come into contact.
At the same time, the participatory process is not without its challenges, and notions of accessibility continue to vary from country to country. The RESEO Conference 2019 will offer an opportunity to explore these issues and find inspiration in real-life projects and productions from across Europe.
Based in the heart of Brussels, La Monnaie / De Munt offers a wide variety of programmes aimed at young audiences, young adults and artists-in-training as well as initiatives for those with diverse social, medical or economic abilities.
The education team looks forward to welcoming RESEO members to Brussels:
“The entire team of the education department is looking forward to welcoming RESEO members. We like to share the experience we build up in community projects, performances and other exiting initiatives and look forward to discovering members’ work “
Linda Lovrovic, MM Dutch-language Schools and Family Coordinator
The European project Get Close to Opera seeks to open opera houses to all, transforming them into laboratories for inclusion and social innovation, cultural exchange and learning.
In this aim, it develops inclusive arts education and training programmes that support best practice in migrant and refugee contexts. The RESEO Conference 2019 will offer delegates the chance to discover the project and take part in activities inspired by its findings.
