International Seminar – 19 September 2019
The GrowOP! young audience opera festival offers cross-artform performances, new formats, Danish and international artists, hands-on family experiences, outdoor performances and more. RESEO is delighted to be partnering with GrowOP! to welcome opera, music and dance education professionals to Aarhus to explore productions for young audiences.
Through live opera performances, projects and panel discussions, “Making Sense Across Borders” will investigate and share ideas and experiences in order to foster international cooperation and exchange around young audience opera.
How can language and culture differences become opportunities rather than obstacles? How can the many (non-verbal) languages of opera be used to our advantage when performing in language area other than our own? How can we exchange performances across borders?
Participation in the seminar will give access to the rest of the festival programme.
The seminar consists of presentations, two live performances and a panel discussion. Confirmed panel participants include Maria Sundqvist (Artistic Director, Opera Verkstan Malmïo Opera), Ingeborg Fangel Mo (Artistic Director, Saum Nordic Music Theatre), Hugo Gudmonsson (Composer), Elfa Lilja Gisladottir (List fyrir alla, Iceland) and Birgitte Holt Nielsen (Den Jyske Opera).
