Art not only mirrors society and its changes, but also plays a crucial role in driving transformation. In an age where information overload can lead to disconnection and inaction, artistic practice reconnects us to our senses, prompting reflection and deeper engagement with the world around us. Culture provides spaces where diverse perspectives are valued, fostering communities built on inclusivity and encouraging us to seek new ideas and unconventional approaches to challenges.
Through their work, RESEO members not only bring the arts to newer and wider audiences, but also support the integration of migrants and refugees, the rehabilitation of formerly incarcerated people and the search for innovative climate solutions, in addition to promoting mental and physical wellbeing. As we navigate the social and environmental complexities of the years to come, culture and its workers will be instrumental. But does this mean cultural institutions now bear social responsibility? What is the role of artists and art workers in today’s transformations?
Hosted in partnership with Casa da Mùsica, the RESEO Conference 2024 will explore the role of arts professionals in enabling profound transformation and empowering the communities of tomorrow. We hope to see many of you there!
