In partnership with Irish National Opera and the Kabin Crew
RESEO members are invited to take part in an artist training workshop on 23 July in Cork, Ireland. This hands-on workshop will focus on the songwriting and recording methods used at the Kabin Studios. Over the course of a morning, participants will record and write music themselves with Kabin Studio’s Creative Director Garry McCarthy, giving an insight into how these processes are used within Cork’s local community. The workshop will be delivered in English.

Creating music with communities workshop

Irish National Opera are teaming up with youth hip-hop collective, the Kabin Crew, to create a theatrical showcase of their music, which will run for one night only at The Everyman, Cork on Monday 22 July. “The Sound of the Northside” is an hour-long celebration of the Kabin Crew’s music performed alongside the INO Orchestra. The performance will be conducted by Medb Brereton Hurley, in specially tailored arrangements of the Crew’s music, arranged by Áine Delany. More info
Based in Knocknaheeny in northside Cork City, the Kabin Crew is made up of around 30 young people from the local area who write and perform their own material, spanning a variety of genres. The collective meet regularly at the Kabin Studio, a not-for-profit vibrant music & creative hub that recently went viral with The Spark, a song created by a group of nine-to-12-year-olds. More info
