Opéra de Dijon wishes to open its doors to all audience. Through its programme, the cultural development department provides audiences from all backgrounds with opportunities to exchange, participate, create or imagine links between the arts. Artists and in-residence or associated ensembles, art professionals and external speakers all share the same goal, touch the audience and offer always more link between performances and audience members.
To live the emotions of a performance today and prepare tomorrow: for many years the department have developed outreach and education projects for schools from kindergarten to universities. Today, people under 26 years old represent 27% of Opera de Dijon’s audience. Focused on accessibility, the department have set up efficient measures to welcome people with disabilities. Audiodescription, specific support, sign language presentations are provided. And because it is important to reach out to the audience and support those who do not feel close or concerned by culture, we create custom-made projects for social or medical-social associations. And because each spectator is special, we also offer personally designed support.
